Information

  • Speakers – Sturdy steel construction with easy-to-solder lugs and 3.3 mm mounting holes. These speakers are often used in commercial flat screen monitors.
  • PAM8403 – This top of the line class D amplifier mounted on a breakout board pairs perfectly with the speakers to provide great sound.
  • Speaker specs:
    -4 ohm, 3 watt power
    -Wires already attached
    -31 mm wide, 70 mm high, 18 mm deep.
    -4 mounting holes, 3 mm diameter.
  • PAM8403 specs:
    -Operation Voltage: 5V. Get power from USB supply, 3 AA batteries, or cell phone battery bank (power supply not included)
    -Output power: 3w + 3w (3 watts to each speaker)
    -Efficiency: up to 90%
    -Knob: smooth turning knob to adjust volume and turn unit on / off
    -Mounting: drill a hole and mount using the volume knob with the included nut and washer
    -Includes breakaway headers for connection, soldering required

Connections:

  • Note: do not connect (-) or (+) speaker connections together, this will damage the amplifier
  • Note: do not apply power without speakers connected, this will damage the amplifier

PAM8403 – Powerful and small Class D amplifier mounted on a 28 x 20 mm breakout board. Includes a super smooth potentiometer combination volume / on-off knob. Also includes header pins.
Mini speakers – 2 pcs. 4 ohm, 3w, 31 mm x 70 mm. The same speakers found in flatscreen TV’s and monitors.
3.5 mm cord – Includes 50 cm (19 in) headphone style cord and plug for easy phone or Raspberry Pi connection
Easily power the kit with any 5V supply (not included): USB cell phone charger, 3 AA batteries, or a cell phone battery bank. Soldering required (header pins included). Do not apply power to the amplifier without speakers connected, this will result in damage to the amplifier.
